HOW TO BE A "WITCH" (WICCAN) AND ELEMENTARY WICCA MAGIC / MAGICKIntroduction to the Basic ConceptsMagic is an outward expression of an inward shift of consciousness. This is done through ritualistic spells, actions and thinking.Rituals serve to reinforce your interior intentions and establish a physical change in your environment. Please read through all of the basic concepts before beginning your foray into Ritual. Be respectful of the power you are calling upon and do the steps in the order in which they are presented. If you feel awkward or silly when you perform ritual, it is natural to feel that way at first. Just try and put your ‘self’ out of the way. Ritual is a great way to set aside pride and judgment, learn to be comfortable with yourself. You may re-word any of the prayers in your own words as long as they remain positive and life affirming. The prayers, symbolism, and actions you perform during ritual are simply external manifestations which exist to support your inner will. They are to be used as such and are not a replacement for true desire for change within. The spirit of the world responds to honest and clear intentions. Now that you have prepared your surroundings and self for change, you may make an invocation towards a specific goal or wish. I suggest that if you are really serious about learning more about Wicca – look over the recommended resources at the back of the guide and EXPLORE... You will have insights and energy you never knew you had - or you knew you had, but didn’t know how to access. Don’t be surprised if others disapprove of your new quest. Even in this modern age, it’s still common. Let them know, with love, that you wouldn’t do anything ‘unholy’ or that didn’t have God’s (and Goddess’s) blessing. Learn to trust your innermost instincts about things and people. If you enter a metaphysical store and don’t feel ‘safe’ leave and try another store or try back at a later time. Just don’t confuse the anticipation (healthy fear) of the unknown with trained conditioning (stifling fear) to reject anything foreign to your previous existence. You’ve begun a wonderful journey into re-discovering the magic around and within you. Let this whole new world bring you a newfound wonder of life.
