Introduction to the Basic Concepts - Why aren't there Magickal or Magical feelings in my oil?

Hello, I am wondering how to tell when my herb or oil is charged and ready for magickal use. I have done the empowering rites and I have felt nothing between my palm and the herb or oil. Is there some way to check to see if it has been fully charged?

Ok this is the kind of question that concerns me. I'm picking on you. Please don't think that. I am just upset with the recent rash of TV shows that show 'witches' and "warlocks" and other people with "magical powers" placing spells and doing telekinesis (moving objects with their minds) and fighting with dark warlords. Then the special effects computer graphics people throw Tinkerbelle dust and sparks everywhere.

These shows have no resemblance to Wicca. They are pure fantasy entertainment conjured up by the every growing need to show violence on TV to get ratings. They're not doing Wiccans any favors. They spread unrealistic expectations about what being a true witch will feel like. I mean I'd love to make some Tinkerbelle sparkles from my fingers, but the closet I ever got to that was when a trio of us threw crumpled Sage into a ritual bonfire and wonderful sparks arose as the dried incense hit the flames. Now that was a Magickal moment!

When you "charge" an oil - you will not feel a tingling in your hand unless of course you want to imagine that is happening to contribute to your mystical experience. Sometimes self-delusion (in a good honest way like that) can help you to create a magical space for personal transformation. Charging an oil is about an inner experience expressed in an outer way.
