HOW TO BE A "WITCH" (WICCAN) AND ELEMENTARY WICCA MAGIC / MAGICK

Introduction to the Basic Concepts - Cakes and Ale

Traditional ‘cakes and ale’ are usually enjoyed towards the end of Wiccan ritual. You may chose wine, water, a cup of herbal tea, or any natural liquid refreshment and have homemade cookies or a healthy snack.

If you can find a source for honey wine or "mead," you are in luck because that is very traditional. Non-alcoholic beverages should be distilled or purified water or natural sugar-free juices. Do not use artificially flavored sodas. All Ritual baked good snacks of muffins, cake or bread should never contain artificial flavors or colors and be homemade if possible.

If you partake in liquid refreshment, pour it into your Steel Chalice prior to your ritual. Hold your Chalice in both your hands and raise it to the West. Offer a sincere blessing to the Goddess and lower your cup to look inside. Find your reflection in the liquid and silently remember your dedication and invocation. When you drink the liquid, you are physically ‘drinking in fully’ the new image of yourself and the magic you wish to happen. From this ‘water of life’ comes re-birth.
