Good Wiccan Beltane – Rituals

Good Wiccan Sabbaths, Holy Days, Holidays & Rituals

Beltane Ritual – Awaken the Senses

Leader begins:

“Tonight we will experience all the sensations of life: taste touch sight smell and hearing.”

Leader walks around the circle offers a sip of wine from the chalice to each saying:

Inhale the aroma from the wine. Then taste and drink in this and every moment of life.”

Leader begins next activity

“Now close your eyes and I will whisper something into your ear.
Keep your eyes closed until after you have heard and accepted it as your truth and do what feels right – Then you may open your eyes and whisper it to your next neighbor. Please try not to change the essence of what is said.

“After you have passed along the truth – close your eyes again to give everyone privacy. I will let you know when it is safe to re-open your eyes.”

Leader whispers to first person to his/her left.

“Touch yourself someplace that makes you feel good.
“Know that you are touching a beloved and sensual child of the Goddess”

Beltane Ritual – Freedom from Bindings

Leader explains:

“We all must take individual responsibility for change in the world and in our lives.
“We each have secrets that hold us back. Now is the time to release and renew our commitment to our spiritual rebirth.
“We need to cut the umbilical cord – so to speak…”

Leader goes around circle to each individual and asks:

“What binds you?”

Participants answer with what they feel: “guilt, fear, anger, obligation, regret, etc.” Leader then binds the person’s hands loosely with white and red ribbon. Leader continues around the circle until all are bound. (Leader appoints person to bind him or herself at end). Leader continues to explain:

“Concentrate all your anger, fear guilt, etc. in the binding.”

“Take time to do this and feel how you are constricted.”

Leader chants:

CHANT:
“By the new light of the returning sun.
God and Goddess now are one.
Strengthening energies now are merged.
Negative energies now are purged.
“Be cleansed. Be healed. Be changed.”

Beltane Ritual – Cone of Energy (And Physical Release)

The cone of energy is built as individuals repeat the following chant,.

CHANT:
“Fire bind it.
“Let know one find it.”

The group may chose to continue to chant, play percussion and dance around the fire to raise the cone of energy. Another chant often sung to raise the cone of energy is:

CHANT:
“She changes everything she touches.
“And everything she touches changes.”

When the group seems ready the leader removes his/her bindings and throws them in the fire and shouts and jumps shaking arms wildly in freedom.

CHANT:
“Freedom”

All others may follow suit when ready. If it is possible to jump over the fire through the smoke then participants should do so while calling out what they are now released of. In the event the fire is too big to jump over – then passing the hands through the smoke will do.

CHANT:
“I leave my fear, guilt or anger etc. in the flames”

Beltane Ritual – Inner Vision and Transition

Let the energy calm down naturally as people tire from dancing and chanting. As the energy subsides, let all stand (or sit) and sway with their eyes closed. Let the moment that just happened have a chance to make its way inward for each individual. Take deep breaths and allow a resonant tone to happen with each extended exhalation.

CHANT: “Ohm” or “Aum”

During the next section of nourishment – consider using the remaining ribbons to weave into bracelets. Suggest that being bound can be good – when it is not constricting.
